Pulse Mobile Launches Veepers(TM) Content Engine for MVNOs and Social Networks At CTIA Wireless 2006

Posted on: Tuesday, 4 April 2006, 09:00 CDT

Pulse Mobile, the leading provider of user-generated mobile content services, today announced the availability of the Veepers Content Engine (VCE), an automated mobile content creation platform designed specifically for mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and online social networks. In commercial deployment at Verizon and Western Wireless, the carrier-certified VCE allows both MVNOs and online social networks the ability to offer their users an easy and compelling method to rapidly create personalized animated messages and avatars for delivery to mobile phones and other devices. As part of this next generation product platform, the company also announced an off-the-shelf applications suite including: Veepers Messaging(TM), Veepers Visual Voicemail(TM), and Veepers ImageText(TM).

"We are responding to the insatiable desire that mobile and online users have to create personalized, fun content," said Jeff Lipton, Pulse Mobile's senior vice president of product and services. "Our MVNO and social network customers demand applications that entertain and delight their subscribers, and end users want to make their mobile communications both fun and witty. Sending and forwarding their animated images to friends and family has proven to be an extremely viral experience."

The highly-scaleable VCE allows an end-user, without any knowledge of animation, the means to easily create a custom interactive character on their mobile phone from a static photo, and add their own voice or have text converted to speech. "From talking dogs to singing babies, end users are taking their static pictures and making all sorts of applications fun, compelling, and at times, very unusual," said Young Harvill, the company's chief technology officer and architect behind the VCE development efforts. "Animated images and avatars are now used to enhance commodity-like applications such as voice mail, instant messaging, and MMS with a gripping, multi-media element."

In addition to offering the VCE directly, Pulse Mobile has partnered with leading companies in the mobile software infrastructure market including Comverse Technologies, Openwave Systems and Lucent Technologies to offer integrated solutions to mobile operators. Established in 1994, the company is headquartered in San Francisco, California with offices in Tokyo, Japan and has relationships with major mobile content aggregators around the world.

Pulse Mobile products and technology will be demonstrated at CTIA Wireless 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Demos can be seen at the following booths: Comverse (2649), Lucent Technologies (1806), Oasys Mobile (2653-HH) and Openwave (536).
