InterVideo(R), Inc. (NASDAQ: IVII), a leading provider of multimedia technologies for handheld device OEMs and ODMs, announced today the demonstration of its latest mobile software solutions for advanced processors at CTIA Wireless 2006. Visitors to InterVideo's CTIA Booth at Central Hall, #1565 will get a first-hand look at the company's live digital TV streaming technology as well as several other InterVideo multimedia solutions currently shipping on mobile phones and GPS devices.
InterVideo leverages its proven track record in multimedia technology to offer multimedia codecs in a wide range of formats including MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and H.264. System integrators and OEMs specializing in mobile handsets, PDAs, or portable media players can now easily offer multimedia solutions to their customers.
Live Digital TV Streaming
With the ability to provide a total Digital TV solution to mobile customers, InterVideo will demo live DVB-H signal streaming with tuner integration at CTIA. InterVideo's multimedia codecs fully support worldwide digital TV formats, including DVB-H in Europe, 1-Seg DTV in Japan, and T-DMB in Asia. InterVideo's codecs have successfully completed a 1-Seg TV live broadcast field trial in Japan and a T-DMB live broadcast field trial in Korea.
InterVideo iMobi(TM) codec technology offers a complete mobile solution that includes a Digital TV solution for handheld devices as well as multimedia recording and playback capabilities as part of a turnkey portable media player solution for OEMs, ODMs, and brand vendors. InterVideo's multimedia codecs are compatible with all major mobile phone operating systems, including Windows(R) Mobile(TM), Symbian(TM), and Linux(TM). These codecs will also work efficiently on feature-phones that do not use high-level operating systems.
Mobile Phones
More and more next-generation mobile phones include support for the 3GPP/3GPP2 standard for digital video media across 3G broadband mobile networks. InterVideo's multimedia codecs allow mass-market consumers with feature-phones to enjoy these premium multimedia services and functionalities at reduced cost.
Using a 6-megapixel camera phone, InterVideo will demonstrate its cutting-edge video codecs to enable digital camcorder and VGA-quality MPEG-4 video clip recording at 30 frames per second. A Linux smart phone embedded with InterVideo's iMobi technologies for 3GPP and MP3 codec functionalities will also be exhibited.
