First Full-Screen HD-Quality Video Streaming Platform with 5.1 Channel Audio Capabilities to Stream Regional Soccer Events Leading up to the 2006 World Cup
QUAD, the developer of an innovative Converged Delivery Platform (CDP) that integrates rich media content and data into one seamless converged system, today announced that its CDP has been selected by NubaStream, Inc., the first technology platform to deliver full-screen streaming high definition (S-HD(TM)) video and 5.1 channel audio.
NubaStream is working with global partners across a broad range of industries, including sports, entertainment, corporate communications and sales training/motivation to bring streaming media to these markets. In order to handle these streaming capabilities, NubaStream needed a robust delivery platform, which it found with the QUAD CDP. A new standard in system architecture combining configurable storage, processing and communications into a single system, QUAD's platform delivers high performance at low costs per session. Its technology simplifies bringing complex services online with an architecture that enables access to a virtually unlimited array of content from adjoining or networked storage.
NubaStream will implement this technology for a global financial institution that will use streaming video to deliver sales training for its financial advisors. NubaStream has also partnered with a global sports association to deliver streaming video of its matches played around the world.
"We did a thorough review of delivery platforms and we chose QUAD based on its innovative design and unique capabilities to handle large amounts of streaming data," said Hendrix Bodden, CEO at NubaStream. "Together, QUAD's Converged Delivery Platform and NubaStream's full screen, HD-quality streaming technology offer content providers the fastest time to service, the lowest cost per user, the lowest cost of operation and the highest-quality viewing experience."
"We are excited that NubaStream has selected our CDP to provide high-quality streaming media to a broad range of industries," said Gary Watts, president at QUAD. "This relationship is a testament to our product innovation and vision to provide the highest speed delivery platform for content and service providers. We look forward to expanding our relationship with NubaStream to bring additional applications and services to market."
