PITTSBURGH, April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- TelCove, a leading provider of business critical telecommunications services, today announced that it has taken a dominant position in Florida as a state-wide communications provider of metro and intercity services to enterprise customers and carriers. During 2005, TelCove grew from seven to fourteen metropolitan markets within Florida, significantly increasing its fiber density and market presence. TelCove has a total of 1,400 route miles of optical fiber within these 14 Florida metropolitan areas, and 1,300 miles of intercity backbone optical fiber connecting these 14 Florida markets to 56 other TelCove markets throughout the eastern half of the United States.

"From Pensacola in the west to Jacksonville on the east; from Tallahassee in the north to Miami in the South, TelCove services virtually all of the major metropolitan areas across Florida," said Bob Guth, President and CEO of TelCove. "The breadth and depth of our Florida infrastructure allows TelCove to offer our premium telecommunications transport and service product portfolio to Florida enterprises across the state. These products include Metro and Intercity Ethernet, VoIP, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, E-Vaulting, and IP VPNs.
"With the planned acquisition of BellSouth by AT&T, Florida enterprises are concerned about being locked in to a single vendor for all their state- wide communication needs. With TelCove, this issue is resolved. These enterprises can rely on TelCove -- a financially strong, state-wide service provider offering the most advanced, secure, and reliable communication transport and services throughout Florida."
