Apr. 8--CHOCTAW -- A 25-year-old Del City man has died of injuries he received in a car chase with police.
Letray Odsola died Monday at an Oklahoma City hospital after his car hit a tree at 10th Street and Hiwassee Road, Police Chief Billy Carter said.
Carter said Odsola had been at Choctaw High School earlier in the day and was asked to leave by a city police officer assigned to the school campus.
He said Odsola wasn't allowed to take his car because his license was restricted. He returned later, drove off in the car and was followed by the officer, he said.
Carter said Odsola sped through a subdivision, clipped a car at the intersection and hit the tree head-on. The accident occurred less than two miles from the school, he said.
Carter said the accident is under investigation.
