Deltek WelcomRisk Receives Software Development Jolt Product Excellence Award

Deltek, the leading provider of enterprise management software for project-focused organizations, announced today that WelcomRisk 2.6, its newly acquired risk management software solution, was recently named a winner in the 16th Annual Software Development Jolt Product Excellence Awards. WelcomRisk is a risk management solution for the systematic identification, mitigation, and reporting of organizational and project risk, both threats and opportunities.

Deltek announced the acquisition of Welcom, a global leader in earned value management (EVM) and project portfolio management (PPM) solutions, on March 20.

Sponsored by Jolt Cola, the Jolt Product Excellence and Productivity Awards are presented annually by CMP Media's Software Development magazine. The awards showcase products that have "jolted" the industry with their innovation and efficiency. Winners were chosen by a team of Software Development editors, columnists, and industry experts out of 89 finalists and a total of 14 categories.

WelcomRisk won first place in the Enterprise Project Management category that included tools for enterprise application integrations (EAI), customer relationship management (CRM), business-process integration, middleware and database applications that streamline business processes and improve integration. Other finalists in the category included Microsoft's Visual Studio Team System 2005 and Proforma's ProVision Enterprise 5.0.

A ceremony honoring the award winners took place on March 15 at the Santa Clara Convention Center during SD West 2006, Software Development's Conference and Expo, an event which attracts more than 3,000 software developers, industry speakers, and members of the press each year. Winners will also be featured in Software Development magazine's June 2006 issue.
