Samsung Completes OSMINE Process for North American DSL Multi-Service Access Platform Market

Posted on: Tuesday, 10 February 2004, 06:00 CST

Samsung Telecommunications America, a leading, global provider of telecommunications and data solutions, and a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., today announced completion of the Telcordia(TM) OSMINE process for both the Telcordia(TM) TIRKS(R) and NMA(R) Systems for its AceMAP(TM) Multi-Service Access Platform. ¶ The OSMINE Services process helps enable network element compatibility and interoperability with Telcordia operating support systems (OSS). All of the US Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs) use Telcordia OSS and require network elements to successfully complete the OSMINE Services process prior to deployment in their networks. ¶"The Telcordia OSMINE Services process helps ensure flow-through automation and reduces operational costs for service providers utilizing Telcordia OSS," said Dennis Tinley, Vice President, NEP solutions, Telcordia Technologies, Inc. "By successfully completing this process, Samsung not only readies its products for deployment in RBOC networks, it also demonstrates its commitment to deliver an advanced, multi-service platform that can be integrated into existing network environments and OSS processes."¶"The OSMINE process is a vital step for any equipment vendor planning to sell its products to large, incumbent U.S. service providers," said Jeri Pitoniak, Senior Director, Broadband Network Systems, of STA. "By completing the OSMINE process, Samsung is further illustrating its continuing commitment to the North American market and is helping to ensure that its AceMAP(TM) product can be integrated into existing network environments and core OSS systems."
