Sony, Intel Develop PC-Qualtiy Music Video Software for Mobile Gadgets

Silicon Valley, Feb. 24 (Jiji Press)--Sony Music Entertainment Inc. and Intel Corp. said Tuesday they have developed a software that can play music videos on mobile phones and personal digital assistants with sound and video quality matching that of personal computers.
The software development is part of the two companies' strategic partnership formed last October.
The high-quality music video software can be used with mobile equipment powered by an Intel microprocessor and operating on Microsoft Corp.'s operating system.
Sony Music, affiliated with Japan's Sony Corp. , and the U.S. chip giant are planning to start shipments of the software during the April-June quarter.END
