CLEVELAND, April 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Agilysys, Inc. , a leading provider of enterprise computer technology solutions, held its annual Retail Advisory Council meeting last month in Cleveland for a group of Agilysys KeyLink Systems Group (KSG) partners in the retail space.

Partners attending the event, sponsored by IBM, discussed retail industry conditions, shared sales strategies and changing customer needs within the vertical market. The event also served as an important sounding board for partners to share with IBM and Agilysys emerging issues in processes and procedures and end-customer feedback.

Partner Dave Henderson, vice president of sales for the largest retail solutions provider in North America servicing colleges and universities, MBS Systems, a division of MBS Textbook Exchange Inc., said, "The event offered a healthy exchange of dialog and information among partners and allowed me to learn more about what was going on in my vertical market as well as other verticals such as retail hospitality."

During the first day partners were divided into two segments, those selling IBM's ACE application and ISVs, or independent software vendors. ACE certified partners learned from IBM more about the company's ACE product roadmap, how to qualify to participate in IBM's upcoming Store Systems User Group event featuring top grocery retailers as well as important features and benefits of IBM's newest self checkout product.

The second day offered Agilysys partners additional round-table sessions and an exclusive tour of the company's Systems Integration Value Added Center (SIVAC), a 230,000-square-foot, ISO 9002-certified facility combining systems integration and distribution space to handle the industry's most complex systems architecture builds.

"The conditions are ripe and the opportunities are many for partners competing in the retail segment," said Pete Coleman, executive vice president, Agilysys. "This event offered us a forum to leverage not only our 20 years of experience with business partners, but also our vast retail expertise and encouraged collaboration among the partner, IBM and Agilysys to drive growth and attain success."
