Sun and Open Cloud Announce the Final Release of JSR 22, The Jain(TM) Service Logic Execution Environment

CANNES, France, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 3GSM WORLD CONGRESS, (STAND C6, Hall 1) -- Sun Microsystems, Inc. and Open Cloud today announced the Final Release of the JAIN SLEE specification (JSR 22).

The JAIN SLEE platform is being adopted internationally by wireless & wireline network operators to provide new services and to enhance existing service offerings. JAIN SLEE platforms enable network operators to integrate these services with existing network infrastructure, thereby protecting existing investments while rapidly developing future applications using standard off-the-shelf Java tools. The JAIN SLEE specification provides a standard allowing Java(TM) developers to build and deploy services into new real-time systems such as voice/data networks or industrial automation.

JAIN SLEE focuses on delivering available, reliable and scalable services that are portable between JAIN SLEE vendors. JAIN SLEE integrates an event model with a component programming model while incorporating standard management interfaces through JMX(TM), resource adapter infrastructure for network adaptation, generic profile interfaces, persistence management for state redundancy, concurrency control and service facilities such as timers, alarm features, usage tracking and traces.
