Sunrise Telecom Introduces First Complete Field Testing Solution for Storage Area Networks

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sunrise Telecom Incorporated , a leading provider of service verification equipment for telecommunications and cable TV networks, today announced its newest addition to Sunrise Telecom handheld metro testing solutions, the Multi-protocol Module for the Sunset MTT and xDSL platform. Complementing the existing Ethernet Module (10/100BaseT and 100BaseFX) and the Gigabit Ethernet Module, the Multi-protocol module provides Fibre Channel testing support for the Storage Area Networks.

The Multi-protocol module supports 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps full line rate Fibre Channel traffic generation and can test at FC-0 and FC-1/FC-2 levels. The simplicity of configuration and use offers the tools to quickly and efficiently qualify Fibre Channel transport over a CWDM or DWDM ring. A one-button acceptance test increases productivity, improves efficiency, and increases test reliability, regardless of the user's experience level.

With 30 different test modules, the SunSet MTT platform gives service installers the industry's broadest solution for installing and troubleshooting voice and data access applications. Such applications include E1, T1, T3, ISDN, IP, Gigabit Ethernet, ATM, Datacom, HSSI, Voice Frequency (VF), ADSL, SHDSL, IDSL, SDSL, and ISDN. These products provide multi-layer diagnostic solutions -- allowing technicians to easily cross over between troubleshooting the physical, service, and network layers.
