TCI Solutions Inc., today revealed inStore(TM) and TCI inStore Host(TM), packaged pricing and inventory management offerings designed to meet the needs of North America's more than 12,000 small grocery chains and independents. The company's market-leading solutions for stores and headquarters were demonstrated here at the Food Marketing Institute's (FMI) 2004 MARKETECHNICS Show. ¶ TCI's introduction of inStore packages include: inStore Receiving, providing direct store delivery (DSD) receiving capabilities; inStore Pricing, for store-level pricing, POS connectivity, shelf price audit functionality and sign/label support; inStore Plus, consisting of DSD, store-level pricing, as well as basic category management; and inStore Host, providing centralized price management for headquarters. ¶"We were able to complete the basic implementation of the system and the file data conversion the very first day. The installation went very smoothly, and our staff training began immediately the second day as scheduled," stated Jim Mills, owner of Snyders IGA in Edmond, Okla. "Our store staff finds the system extremely easy to use, and it helps us better manage promotions by supporting automatic updates of future price changes. It really helps us to tighten up our backdoor receiving processes."¶ TCI will market inStore through its existing reseller network. CGI Group Inc., one of the largest independent information technology and business process services firms in North America, will also offer inStore implementation services for those resellers who choose not to provide installation and support. This provides the widest range of options for smaller grocers to harness the power of the latest solutions without the high implementation, training and maintenance costs associated with major system installations and integration efforts. ¶"In conjunction with our partners, TCI provides small chains and independents a complete, affordable and easy-to-use operational solution. It enables them to effectively compete with industry giants," said Tom Saari, TCI's new vice president of alliances and channels. "I believe that the combination of inStore's price and inventory management capabilities, and the skills of our business partners, will offer these grocers improved operations, protected margins and increased revenues."¶ TCI Solutions Inc., founded in 1983, is a leading provider of enterprise-wide software and services to supermarket chains. The company's flagship solution, TCI Retail(TM), manages pricing and inventory from headquarters down to the store level. Built on an extensible, scalable infrastructure plus a central data repository, this unique architecture provides the functional depth and flexibility needed to quickly execute business-critical decisions in today's complex retail environment. TCI's solutions, with more than 400 chains and 15,000 installations worldwide, help to reduce costs and improve efficiency in retail operations. With headquarters in Tucson, Ariz., the company maintains sales and support offices nationwide. For more information visit: www.tcisolutions.com.
