TelCove Expands Fiber Optic Network Infrastructure in the Pensacola Region and Across Florida

PITTSBURGH and PENSACOLA, Fla., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- TelCove, a leading provider of business critical telecommunications services to enterprise customers, carriers, and government organizations, today announced growing regional business demand for its Internet, data and voice solutions in Pensacola, Florida, particularly among medium to large enterprises looking for a state-wide service provider. To accommodate this demand, TelCove has made significant investments in the past year to expand its Florida fiber optic network to 2,700 route miles, while upgrading and enhancing this local and intercity network to enable next-generation services like enterprise Voice- over-Internet Protocol (VoIP), business continuity/disaster recovery services, and 10-Gigabit metropolitan Ethernet service.
In the Pensacola market, TelCove has 43 miles of embedded fiber-optic cable. This network infrastructure supports over 320 medium-to-large Pensacola area enterprises. TelCove's focus is providing Pensacola customers with fiber to the enterprise -- a direct fiber-based connection from the enterprise location to the TelCove metro backbone network -- to ensure the highest levels of network up-time and performance. Across Florida, TelCove is the largest competitive provider of metro and intercity network services with over 2,700 miles of network infrastructure serving 14 Florida markets.
"I'm delighted to report the initiation of a highly aggressive growth strategy in Pensacola for TelCove," said Jeff Donahue, TelCove's Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations. "TelCove's recent network enhancements signal a renewed commitment to the area and to Florida as a whole. Additionally, they reflect a significant up-tick in local demand for next- generation services delivered over our fiber-based infrastructure."
Unlike many competitors who service enterprises remotely, TelCove has a local Pensacola team who, together with over 100 employees across Florida, provide full-service customer and technical support. The team includes sales professionals, network technicians, engineering/operations specialists, and customer service representatives.
TelCove has also recently introduced a comprehensive new set of services in each of its 70 markets, including Pensacola. Recently-launched services include enterprise Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP); business continuity/disaster recovery solutions, including E-Vaulting and other data storage services supporting the enterprise during severe weather events; Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions; and, high-capacity, 10-Gigabit data transport via Ethernet, a particularly important application for the region's important medical and educational institutions.
Beyond Florida, TelCove continues to expand its geographic footprint in addition to diversifying its offerings. Regional enterprises and carriers have high-speed transport and service options to all of the carrier's 70 markets, from Vermont to Florida in the east; as far west as Wichita and Houston; and as far north as Detroit.
