High-Profile Executives Address Challenges of Delivering Professional Services that Successfully Meet Needs of Customers and Financial Needs of Shareholders
The Technology Professional Services Association (TPSA) concluded its inaugural Summit last week in San Diego. More than 140 senior services executives from leading technology companies gathered to address the challenges of delivering technology professional services that successfully meet the business needs of customers and the financial needs of shareholders. The success of the event underscores the importance of PS in technology companies.
"Both the attendance at our inaugural Summit and the tremendous growth in our membership since our launch in September shows the growing importance of PS in today's technology companies," said Thomas Lah, TPSA executive director. "Knowing the sharing of information and collaboration among Summit attendees will ultimately increase successful implementation and adoption of technology by customers is the realization of the TPSA mission."
"I was pleasantly surprised by the robust turnout and content for the inaugural summit meeting. The presentations were incredibly relevant and it's nice to be able to network with many highly talented folks that are faced with very similar challenges. We can all help each other, which will, in turn, help our industry," said Ken Kaisen, VP/General Manager of Avaya Consulting and Systems Integration.
"The TPSA Summit exceeded my expectations. The presentations were first class, thought provoking and relevant to my own company's business challenges," said Mark Hodges, DVP, Customer Support and Operations, PTC. "In addition, the Summit provided a rare and valuable opportunity to meet with peers from other companies and discuss common issues and concerns. I look forward to participating in future events."
The TPSA Summit was highlighted by keynotes from CA and salesforce.com, as well as a special presentation on "Technology Adoption: 2006" by noted author Geoffrey Moore. An in-depth discussion of analyst perceptions of the technology professional services industry was presented by Neuberger Berman Technology Management and Satori Funds.
Sessions featured presentations from TPSA members Cisco Systems, Convergys, EMC, Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, GlassHouse Technologies, IKON Office Solutions, QuickArrow and Software AG. Also included was content from Lucent and TPSA Task Force updates on Economic Impact Analysis, Intellectual Asset Management and Best Practice Accounting Principles.
TPSA was launched in September 2005 and in a relatively short time has grown its membership to 41 companies, including Avaya (NYSE:AV), BEA Systems (Nasdaq:BEAS), Borland Software (Nasdaq:BORL), CA (NYSE:CA), Cisco Systems (Nasdaq:CSCO), Convergys (NYSE:CVG), Deltek Systems, Diebold (NYSE:DBD), EMC (NYSE:EMC), Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories (an Alcatel company), GlassHouse Technologies, Hitachi Data Systems, Hyperion Solutions (Nasdaq:HYSL), IKON Office Solutions (NYSE:IKN), ILOG (Nasdaq:ILOG), Juniper Networks (Nasdaq:JNPR), Mentor Graphics (Nasdaq:MENT), Mercury (Nasdaq:MERQ), MRO Software (Nasdaq:MROI), NCR (NYSE:NCR), NEC Solutions (America) (Nasdaq:NIPNY), Network Appliance (Nasdaq:NTAP), Nuance Communications (Nasdaq:NUAN), OpenAir, Parametric Technology Corporation (Nasdaq:PMTC), Peregrine Systems (OTC:PRGN), Primavera Systems, Progress Software (Nasdaq:PRGS), QuickArrow, Rolta International, salesforce.com (NYSE:CRM), SBI Enteris, Softrax Corporation, Software AG, Spotfire, Sterling Commerce, Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq:SUNW), Taleo Corporation (Nasdaq:TLEO), Tenrox, Toshiba America Business Solutions and Xerox (NYSE:XRX).
