Vivisimo Rolls Out Velocity Universal Connect, Plug-and-Play Connectivity for Third-Party Search and Content Applications; Delivers Out-of-the-Box Access to and Federation of Major Content Sources

Vivisimo (vivisimo.com), the creator of innovative software to access and cluster the world's information for better search and discovery, today announced Velocity Universal Connect, plug-and-play connectivity to third-party search and content application connectors. Available immediately, Universal Connect ensures that Velocity customers can seamlessly search, federate or key-match content from any application or repository supporting open Web frameworks and feeds, such as RSS and Atom, and vendor-specific connectors, including A9's OpenSearch and Google OneBox. Universal Connect is a continuation of Vivisimo's strategy to ensure that Velocity is a true federated search platform with the speed, flexibility and adaptability to access any and all content sources.

Vivisimo Velocity is a comprehensive search solution that is purpose-built to give enterprises unprecedented speed and flexibility in retrieving and presenting information to their users. Velocity already enables enterprises to quickly connect to third party applications, including Documentum, Microsoft SharePoint and Lotus Notes, through their native Web interfaces or APIs without the presence of an intermediary software layer or middleware.
