Quest Management Xtensions For MOM Demonstrated at MMS As Latest Support of Heterogeneity Within Microsoft Systems Management; Quest Continues to Support, Add Value to Microsoft Operations Manager

Posted on: Tuesday, 25 April 2006, 12:00 CDT

At the Microsoft Management Summit 2006, Quest Software Inc. (Nasdaq:QSFT) today underscored its continuing support for Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 by demonstrating Quest(R) Management Xtensions for MOM (formerly Vintela Systems Monitor), Quest's product that extends MOM 2005 across the heterogeneous enterprise to include Unix and Linux environments. This is the latest addition to Quest's solutions that extend Microsoft management products - including Active Directory and Systems Management Server - across heterogeneous environments. Separately, Quest announced it is expanding its MOM-related offerings to include Microsoft .NET application performance management through an agreement with AVIcode (see related release).

In addition to extending MOM to Unix and Linux and supporting MOM monitoring of .NET applications, Quest offers management packs that enhance MOM for Exchange usage analysis, event log management and system performance troubleshooting.

"Many organizations today have multi-platform environments that are complex to manage," said David Waugh, vice president of product management, Quest Software. "Together, Microsoft and Quest simplify IT by offering a broad solution that helps to manage Windows and non-Windows environments."
