Essential Security Software to Extend Microsoft Windows RMS Security to Small Businesses
Posted on: Tuesday, 25 April 2006, 12:00 CDT
Essential Security Software(TM), Inc., a provider of outbound email and document security solutions, today announced support for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Rights Management Services (RMS), and the extension of its capabilities beyond Active Directory requirements, allowing enterprise organizations to set and enforce document and e-mail usage policies for the secure exchange of e-mail and documents with small businesses.
"By extending RMS' capabilities, Essential Security Software is providing a pathway for enterprises that rely on Active Directory to conduct secure business transactions with their small business customers and partners," said Robert Weber at ManagingRights.com. "This effort will help ensure the same level of protection currently available within the enterprise's corporate domain is applied to their communications with small businesses."
"We are pleased to work with Essential Security Software to extend the capabilities of Rights Management Services to small businesses," said Tejas Dixit, senior product manager - identity and access partners, Microsoft Corporation. "Interoperability will allow small businesses to create and share sensitive information with employees, partners and customers in ways that were once limited to larger enterprises."
Windows RMS-enabled applications help safeguard digital information from unauthorized access and use. Essential Security Software will extend the Windows RMS platform by enabling the following:
-- Interoperability between Essential Taceo(TM), Essential Security Software's peer-to-peer email and document security solution, and Microsoft's RMS.
-- Identification and management of keys for small businesses by Essential Taceo to enable small businesses that do not run Active Directory to securely exchange email and documents with enterprises that do.
-- Automatic identity translation through Microsoft's Rights Management Services to translate identity into and out of RMS for small business users of Taceo.
-- Rights translation and enforcement services through and between RMS and Essential Taceo.
Essential Security Software's CEO Ray Zambroski will speak at the 2006 Gilbane Enterprise DRM Conference in San Francisco on April 25 at 2 p.m. Zambroski will discuss "Document Security for Small-to-Medium Size Enterprises" and the availability of solutions designed to meet the needs of the SMB market.
