ISLANDIA, N.Y., March 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) today announced that Network Computing has selected BrightStor Enterprise Backup 10.5 as "Editor's Choice" in a comparative review of seven leading enterprise tape backup solutions.
BrightStor Enterprise Backup was selected over products from VERITAS, Legato, IBM Tivoli, Hewlett Packard, CommVault and BakBone. Products were tested in a 24/7 production environment for ease of use, interface design, hardware and operating system support, management, configuration, support for full system restores, and price.
Network Computing said BrightStor Enterprise Backup was easy to install, use and license, "shines at reporting," and combines "convenient wizards and checklist functionality with an excellent interface, all at a low price."
"Network Computing's comparative reviews are known to be among the most rigorous and challenging in the industry, so we are obviously pleased to have once again beaten the competition," said Nigel Turner, CA senior vice president of BrightStor storage management. "CA takes pride in delivering best-in-class storage management solutions that address customers' needs from the mainframe to the desktop and that provide intelligent, reliable and highly cost-efficient data protection."
