SAN DIEGO, Calif., March 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- California Micro Devices , a leading supplier of application specific analog semiconductor products for mobile, computing and consumer electronics, today announced that it will be showcasing its popular Application Specific Integrated Passive(TM) (ASIP(TM)) solutions for emerging HDMI/DVI and mobile handset display applications at the 6th Annual DisplaySearch US FPD Conference in San Diego.
Designed Into Leading Consumer Electronics and Mobile Applications California Micro Devices' application specific ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection and EMI (electromagnetic interference) filtering solutions are designed into a broad range of leading digital flat panel TVs, flat panel monitors and mobile handset displays. These highly integrated ASIP(TM) solutions provide the highest levels of ESD protection and EMI filtering while simultaneously reducing board space requirements and total cost of ownership.

Major applications that California Micro Devices will be presenting include:
-- High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) / Digital Video Interface
(DVI) solutions featuring the PicoGuard(TM) CM1213 family of ESD diode
arrays, providing up to 8 channels of 8kV contact ESD protection in a
single package, with only 1pF of capacitance -- the industry's lowest
capacitance solution for HDMI ports.
-- Centurion(TM) low capacitance EMI filters for mobile handset high-speed
color LCD interfaces. California Micro Devices' latest EMI filters for
these applications feature the industry's lowest capacitance, lower
implementation costs (36% less), significant part count reduction
(134 discrete passives to 4 chips) and impressive form factor reduction
(88 % less area) compared to discrete solutions. California Micro
Devices' proprietary Centurion(TM) advanced zener process technology
provides enhanced EMI filter performance, greater ESD protection and
dramatically lower capacitance levels.
