Posted on: Wednesday, 10 March 2004, 06:00 CST

HOUSTON, March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- In its continuing quest to provide reliable communications to the harshest and most remote regions of the globe, CapRock Communications has formed an alliance with Hawaii-Pacific Teleport. The alliance enables CapRock to provide increased satellite communications coverage and to extend the reach of its IPxpress(TM) technology for clients throughout the entire Asia-Pacific region.

"CapRock has made no secret of its desire to offer service to customers around the globe, and we now have one more piece of that worldwide puzzle," said CapRock President Errol Olivier. "The alliance with Hawaii-Pacific Teleport means customers operating in the Asia-Pacific region can take better advantage of CapRock's highly reliable advanced satellite communications services."

Having excellent fiber access to the U.S. mainland and to Singapore, Hawaii is the ideal location from which to provide satellite services to the Asia-Pacific region. Featuring the CapRock IPxpress network service platform, the Asia-Pacific coverage region now stretches westward from the U.S. mainland to the western edge of Turkmenistan.

"We believe we will benefit from aligning ourselves with CapRock -- a company whose reputation for communications reliability and service excellence is unparalleled in the oil and gas industry," said Hawaii-Pacific Teleport VP of Business Development Vince Waterson. "As we seek additional business opportunities, we feel our alliance with CapRock is a very positive step in the right direction."
