Beyond.Com Reports Sales & Sales Management As the Top Industry for Online Jobs

Beyond.com, Inc., the largest niche career network for business professionals, released its First Quarter 2006 Career Trend Analysis Report. Sales & Sales Management was the top industry channel for online job postings, representing 15.47% of all job postings in the Beyond.com Network. This is the first time in five consecutive quarters that Information Technology was not the top industry, which came in second with 13.47%. Rounding out the top three was Accounting & Finance with 12.99%. Over the previous quarter, Sales & Sales Management had the second largest increase with 1.21%. Other sectors that exhibited a large growth from the previous quarter included Clerical & Administrative (1.42%) and Accounting & Finance (0.71%).

"The Sales & Sales Management industry has always managed to remain as one of the top three industries for online job postings, which proves that this industry has continued to be a strong and healthy sector within our network community," said Richard Milgram, CEO of Beyond.com. Beyond.com also reported 53.91 % of network candidates have a 4 year college degree or higher. In addition, 46.82% of candidates have just started their job search, which indicates a fresh and educated candidate pool for employers.
