Finisar Announces Surveyor Version 6.0 Performance Monitoring & Network Analysis Software for Enterprise LANs

Finisar Corp. (NASDAQ: FNSR), a leading provider of network performance tools and fiber optic subsystems, announced today Surveyor Version 6.0 performance monitoring and network analysis software for enterprise LANs. This enhanced version software will help Network Managers monitor and analyze their networks to maintain network uptime and stave off unexpected outages. These delays are crucial to avoid because they adversely affect mission critical applications and ultimately enterprise business.

New enhancements for Surveyor 6.0's full seven-layer monitoring and analysis software were user driven and they focused on networking hot buttons such as improving network security and performance monitoring capabilities. New features include:

 --  Enhanced security features including support of HTTPS and SSL     authentication for web server as well as super User authority and set     payload slicing --  Greatly enhanced RMON mode support of both RMON-1 & RMON-2 functions     as well as updated SNMP support for version 1 and 2. --  Enhanced GUI for better capture and analysis --  New Jumbo Packet support for packet size up to 16,000 bytes --  New Scheduled Capture and Arm for future time and date --  Improved manageability that reduces cost of administration of large     deployment of Surveyor/THG in enterprises --  New Instant filtering capability and improved search option for HEX     and ASCII pattern in Decodes

Finisar's high performance, silicon accelerated hardware products never drop a packet during capture, even at full line-rate with filtering and slicing fully enabled.
