Posted on: Friday, 5 May 2006, 09:00 CDT

AUSTIN, Texas, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Database-Brothers, Inc. (DBI), industry thought leaders in database performance and accountability methodologies, announced the release of Brother-WatchDog(TM), a new product with unique, patent-pending technology that ensures data accountability. Brother-WatchDog(TM) tracks access and updates to corporate database data, capturing the web application end user identities & locations, and correlating the identity to corresponding database statement activity.

"Today's corporate databases store vast amounts of sensitive data to include social security numbers, credit card numbers, and health information," said Scott Hayes, President and Founder of DBI. "Credentialed, anonymous data users present an enormous risk to organizations when this data is inappropriately accessed or updated. Brother-WatchDog(TM) acts as a 'Traffic Camera' for corporate databases; not only tracking data violators but also deterring potential offenders."

Unlike products that rely on network sniffing, Brother-WatchDog(TM) uses unique, unobtrusive technology to accurately capture user identity and location "fingerprint" information without requiring application changes. The product also provides "Tamper Evident Seals" to ensure the accuracy of audited information as well as comprehensive search and reporting capabilities. In addition to web users, Brother-WatchDog(TM) can also be used to track the activities of system administrators, database administrators, and Decision Support Analysts. According to Hayes, "Brother-WatchDog puts an end to the mysteries of who did what, when, and from where. In other words, corporate accountability starts here and now."
