Intercim Delivers FACTORYnet Advanced Integration Services for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Intercim today announced FACTORYnet Advanced Integration Services (AIS) for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004. With FACTORYnet AIS, our customers can slash integration costs between Intercim's Manufacturing Execution System (MES) with other legacy systems by as much as 80%. The announcement coincides with the launch of Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, occurring today as part of Microsoft Corp.'s Silicon Valley Speaker Series in Mountain View, Calif.
FACTORYnet AIS is a toolset that allows the configuration of integration between Intercim's applications and a customer's legacy systems. Integration is driven by the customer's business processes, and is configured, not developed. One of the powerful benefits of FACTORYnet AIS with Microsoft BizTalk Server is that integration configuration can be performed by Intercim Professional Services Group or by the customer. Through AIS standard configurability, customers benefit by reducing the time for migration, implementation of subsequent software upgrades and system integration testing. All Intercim customers will be able to meet aggressive implementation schedules resulting in reduced costs and rapid ROI.
"Rather than write specific integration software for each external data source, the AIS tool allows for the interface to be configured at installation time, thus eliminating the need for application programming and application system testing," said Jeff Star, Vice President of Software Development and CTO for Intercim. "The Rules Engine in BizTalk Server is then configured to process and map the data to and from the FACTORYnet database and other external systems resulting in a rapid and cost effective implementation."
Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, part of the Microsoft Windows Server System, provides foundational technologies - including business-process orchestration, single sign-on capability, and human-based workflow and Web services support - that enable customers to build tailored e-business solutions to connect people with information and processes. Built on the Microsoft .NET Framework and integrated into the Microsoft Office System and Visual Studio .NET, BizTalk Server 2004 addresses the unique needs of information technology professionals, information workers and developers to help increase efficiency and productivity.
"Intercim provides a solution that will help our customers develop a fully integrated solution with BizTalk Server 2004, reducing the risks and complexities that are typically associated with integration projects," said Eric Swift, Director of E-Business Servers at Microsoft Corp. "Intercim FACTORYnet AIS and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 will empower companies to capitalize on new opportunities and build the next generation of tailored e-business solutions that span corporate boundaries and improve business agility."
