May 7--Local planned community developers are hosting a forum on Tuesday to explore what role planned communities should play in future Treasure Valley growth, particularly south and east of Boise.
The keynote speaker will be Nick Haskell from San Francisco who is with the international planning firm EDAW Inc. He specializes in planned communities and transit-oriented infill developments.
Boise Mayor Dave Bieter will provide opening comments. Other speakers include Ralph Perez from Isaac's Canyon Development Company and representatives from Ada County Development Services and Micron Technology.
The event is hosted by a coalition of landowners who collectively own more than 15,000 acres in Southeast Ada County.
The free event begins at 10 a.m. at the Egyptian Theatre at Capitol Blvd. and Main St.
