Guardian Chooses TIBCO Software to Transform Customer Service Experience

Posted on: Monday, 8 May 2006, 09:09 CDT

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TIBCO Software Inc. today announced that The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian), the fourth largest mutual life insurance company in the U.S., selected TIBCO's software to enhance customer experience in its group insurance business. Guardian will use TIBCO business process management (BPM) and integration software to streamline processes and increase business agility to sharpen its customer focus, while enhancing the enterprise infrastructure required to broaden application integration with Guardian's service-oriented architecture (SOA).

Guardian and its subsidiaries protect individuals, businesses and their employees with life, disability, health and dental insurance products, and provide investors with asset-accumulation products. For its new client-centric BPM effort, Guardian selected the TIBCO Staffware(R) offering -- a suite of application modules, such as the TIBCO iProcess(TM) Engine and TIBCO iProcess(TM) Analytics, built on an open architecture designed to provide a complete end-to-end process management solution. Guardian will also be relying on TIBCO's enterprise application integration suite, Business Works(TM), to enhance interaction among Guardian's multi-layered technologies and legacy environments, and also to enhance integration with Guardian's robust SOA. When fully implemented, TIBCO will enable Guardian to offer its Group clients an enhanced customer experience, while at the same time improving back office operations.

"We're focused on enhancing our transactional processes to improve the way we work with customers and bring new products and services to them faster," said Jaime Sguerra, Guardian's chief technology officer. "With TIBCO, we gain insight into critical contextual data about our business processes so we can continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of delivering financial products and services to our customers. We were particularly impressed with the robust reporting capabilities of TIBCO iProcess Analytics," added Sguerra.

"Guardian understands the true benefits of adopting innovative technologies that improve IT and business efficiencies," said John Stopper, SVP, North America Financial Services, TIBCO Software. "TIBCO's software will help to empower Guardian's group insurance business for delivering greater value to customers and positioning its business for future growth."
