Enterpulse Announces the Next Generation of Its EnterConnect(R) Software; Premier Portal Product Offers Collaboration, Asset Management

Enterpulse today announced the next generation of its portal software product, EnterConnect: the robust asset management system and employee/partner collaboration intranet and extranet. EnterConnect offers an alternative to inaccessible information, lack of communication, and document chaos--empowering a workforce to increase productivity and ultimately drive savings for the business. With several successful client implementations, and a product evolution that has lent itself to enterprise deployment, EnterConnect version 8.6 is now available.
With EnterConnect, companies can select from a menu of features that make the most sense for their business and the way their employees and partners communicate. The software provides collaboration features such as Company News, Calendar, Discussion Boards, Contacts, Company Projects, and a personalized page allowing employees to customize their own dashboard view of projects, links, email, news and more. To help companies manage the proliferation of content and documents, the software includes an easy-to-use service interface for searching, retrieving, and updating files in order to better manage the lifecycle of company assets.
While well-suited for any enterprise, EnterConnect's quick deployment and low price point is particularly advantageous for companies in the mid-market. At the recent Gartner Midsize Enterprise Summit held in Hollywood, FL and attended by CIOs from midmarket companies, Enterpulse conducted a survey during their executive boardroom presentation on EnterConnect. Among many compelling results, Enterpulse learned that while setting up Web-based project teams is one of the most commonly requested functions by business users, only 27% of organizations surveyed have deployed this capability. Additionally, only 13% of these CIO respondents said they have a content management system in place to support their intranet.
EnterConnect addresses these needs by supporting the easy setup of different communities, while leveraging enterprise search, workflow, and document management within those communities. Additionally, the product is equipped with content publishing templates for the most common types of content, offering an easy-to-use RTF editor, publishing workflow, as well as integration with the EnterConnect asset repository for inserting images and files directly into web content. Combining these core capabilities is critical to usability.
"Our goal is to provide the mid-market with pre-built portal applications by leveraging best-in-class functionality from the software industry's leading Portal Platform vendors," said Josh Hofmann, Enterpulse's Executive Vice President of Products and Solutions. "The result is a portal product that can be expanded to address any business need at a fraction of the normal implementation cost."
For those companies who already have BEA Portal, EnterConnect offers a way to leverage that investment and get up and running with an intranet/extranet with potential for full deployment in less than 5 days. And because EnterConnect is built using a platform-agnostic services infrastructure, it allows for custom deployment on other existing portal platforms--so any business can take advantage of its proven features.
In addition, Enterpulse offers flexible support options, including first-line support, to accommodate a company's environment and budget. Customers can also deploy features based on current needs while achieving flexibility for future expansion of their intranet/extranet portal.
Among EnterConnect clients are Rheem Manufacturing, a leading North American producer of water heaters; a major university medical center; and a worldwide manufacturer of stored energy products.
