Glitch Trims Call From Sheriff's Office

May 19--RALEIGH -- A glitch in a phone messaging system Thursday left some Wake County residents with an incomplete message from the sheriff's office.
A computerized system intended to call residents in the area near the In & Out Mart at 3000 Creech Road, where store clerk Osama "Samuel" Haj-Hussein, 43, was shot to death May 12, said Phyllis Stephens, spokeswoman for the sheriff's office.
However, the system dialed people's numbers and left messages announcing only that the sheriff's office was calling instead of asking people who might have seen anything out of the ordinary near the store to call investigators.
Those with information about Hussein's killing can reach the Wake County Sheriff's Office by calling 856-6800.
