Five SpeedStream IAD models give service providers a wide range of deployment options for different business and office needs. Quality of service mechanisms and policy-based priority queuing help to ensure that voice traffic can be prioritized over data traffic.
"At Siemens, we're advancing our LifeWorks vision of making access to data, voice and video easy anywhere. Our carrier customers are searching for strategic suppliers to help them deliver new, integrated methods of satisfying very real customer requirements like VoIP and video on demand," said Paul Reitmeier, president, Siemens Subscriber Networks, Inc. "These new SpeedStream IADs represent a big win for both our carrier customers and their subscribers."
Additional features across the SpeedStream IAD family:
* Built-in 10/100 Base-T switched Ethernet ports support multiple
connections within the network.
* An optional 802.11x Wireless LAN Access interface can untether users
from wireline connections.
* Quality of Service mechanisms include Type Of Service, DiffServ, VLAN,
and Packet Classification.
* Standards fully supported are MGCP, IUA/SCTP and SIP.
* VPN functionality can be provided via a built-in Point-To-Point
Protocol Server or the establishment of an IPSec tunnel, secured with
DES, 3DES.
* Available models with ADSL or G.SHDSL WAN interfaces provide asymmetric
or symmetric broadband speeds, depending on the customer need.
* Fax and modem devices are supported.
SpeedStream IADs are standards-based and interoperate with solutions of Siemens and other leading IP softswitch vendors.
