Mid-Atlantic Venture Association Selects Voxant to Present at Capital Connection 2006

Posted on: Tuesday, 23 May 2006, 16:56 CDT

MCLEAN, Va., May 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Voxant, the world's first viral syndication network for online news, today announced that it has been selected from several hundred candidates to present at the exclusive Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA) Capital Connection 2006 Venture Showcase. Voxant differentiates itself by focusing on the news industry, providing tools that content providers, web publishers, bloggers and advertisers can use to unlock vast untapped markets for news online.

"For nearly two decades, MAVA's venture fairs have identified some of the hottest entrepreneurial companies," said Julia Spicer, Executive Director of MAVA. "Capital Connection 2006 continues that trend, not only showcasing exciting rising star companies on the East coast, but enterprises who have the potential to be industry leaders."

"We are honored to be a part of this prestigious event," said Jeff Crigler, Voxant CEO. "Presenting at MAVA's Capital Connection gives us the opportunity to share our vision for revolutionizing online news distribution through viral syndication. We can help news organizations regain some of the $3 billion advertising revenue lost last year due to rapidly declining TV viewership and print circulation. Voxant provides these organizations and advertisers access to millions of additional Web sites and blogs on the 'long tail of the Web' that have over half the Internet audience, but very little access to quality news content and advertising."

The Voxant Viral Syndication Network(TM) transforms news assets into revenue producing, Web-based products through the simple steps of preparation, enhancement, search optimization and viral distribution. Voxant's platform ingests, indexes and formats rich media news content, including video, audio, text and still images, enhances it for search engine retrieval and ensures content integrity, quality and cross-platform reliability. Ads and branding are wrapped into NewsCubes(TM) with the content, ensuring the content owner is able to track views and ad revenue.

Capital Connection, which is being held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Washington, D.C. on May 30-31, showcases the most fundable entrepreneurial companies in the market today. "With a dynamic slate of companies presenting and more than 1,000 attendees from local and national equity firms and entrepreneurial and professional service firms, the fair is one of the venture industry's most successful events," said Capital Connection Co-Chair Tim Meyers, general partner of Update Partners.
