SANTA CLARA, Calif. and REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sun Microsystems, Inc. and Nominum, the leading provider of network naming and addressing solutions, today announced that Bell Canada has selected a joint Sun-Nominum solution to build a powerful next-generation services infrastructure. The solution is designed to give Bell Canada unmatched Domain Name System (DNS) performance and resiliency -- ultimately providing an industry-leading foundation to quickly deploy new IP services to customers.
Combining Sun Fire (TM) x64 (x86, 64-bit) servers, the Solaris(TM) 10 Operating System (OS) and Nominum software, Bell Canada is able to deploy a scalable and resilient network naming and addressing infrastructure solution with the backing of two world-class vendors. The combination eases deployment, reduces cost and provides unbeatable availability and scalability as new IP-services come to market.
