Windows Event Forwarder Offered As Add-On for Orion Network Performance Monitor

TULSA, Okla., May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- SolarWinds.Net announced today that it has released a new, free add-on to its Award Winning Orion Network Performance Monitor called the Windows Event Forwarder. This add-on module is installed on Windows servers to forward Windows Event Messages to SolarWinds' Orion Syslog Server.
"The ability to remotely monitor system logs and events is a critical part of server management," said Ryan Jett, Senior Technology Advisor for SolarWinds.Net. "While Unix systems are inherently able to forward system logs to log servers, Windows Event Messages are typically stored locally and are sometimes harder to monitor. The Windows Event Forwarder allows you to centrally manage system logs whether they be from Windows servers, Unix servers, routers, switches, or firewalls."

SolarWinds' customers who implement the Orion Network Performance Monitor and have active software maintenance can download the Windows Event Forwarder and install it on as many of their Windows servers as needed.
