ATLANTA, GA/LONDON, UK, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- VoxSurf Ltd. (http://www.voxsurf.com/), a leading independent provider of next generation voice and video messaging solutions, has launched two new products, MMS Voicemail and VxOne Videomail at 2004 CTIA Wireless.
MMS Voicemail and Videomail, built on VxOne(TM), offers wireless carriers new ways to increase network traffic and revenue streams while providing leading-edge messaging technologies for their customers.
MMS Voicemail enables users to receive and store voicemails on their handsets, just as they would any text or picture messages. This technology is expected to be especially popular among users who wish to filter their voicemails. For example, they could use it to have messages from high-priority callers forwarded directly to their handsets, removing the need to check for messages on their wireline voicemail service.
"For telecom service providers, MMS Voicemail will improve data usage considerably, and in the long-term, reduce the number of mailboxes needed to be maintained on their own servers, a real cost saving," says VoxSurf Co- founder Andy Munarriz. "As with every other VxOne(TM) feature, it can be rolled out to specific user groups as part of a custom-made solution."
Also showcased is VxOne Videomail, a software package that takes all message-handling functions of VxOne(TM) and applies them to video. VxOne Videomail enables users to greet video callers with a video message of their choosing, and to store the caller's message in their mailbox.
"VxOne Videomail helps wireless telecom service providers migrate their services to 3G, quickly and easily, whether it is integrated with the carrier's incumbent voicemail and messaging system as a stand-alone service or supplied with the full VxOne(TM) platform," adds Munarriz. "It will stimulate usage of video services by catering to users with both the latest 3G handsets and older models, increasing data calls and overall call completions."
VxOne(TM) has been licensed by Z-Tel Communications, Inc. (http://www.ztel.com/) a nationwide, integrated communications provider in the United States. This agreement enables Z-Tel to offer next generation voicemail and unified messaging services to hundreds of thousands of fixed-line subscribers and wholesale customers it expects to acquire over the next several years.
VoxSurf will also announce an agreement to supply VxOne(TM) technology to a leading global voicemail vendor at CTIA Wireless.
