Virtutech Simics Selected for Software Development and Testing By Division of Northrop Grumman Corporation; Virtutech's Simulation-Based Software Development Extends into Navigation System Applications

Posted on: Tuesday, 30 May 2006, 09:00 CDT

Virtutech, Inc., the leading provider of full system simulation technology for the development and testing of software for advanced electronic systems, today announced that Northrop Grumman Corporation's Navigation Systems Division selected Simics for a pilot project involving software development and testing for selected navigation systems.

With Simics, Northrop Grumman plans to simulate its navigation systems and customize their software for a variety of applications, providing an opportunity to examine and test how newly created software will operate.

"The deterministic capability of full system simulation will allow the customer to perform in-depth inspection and diagnosis to meet feature and performance requirements. This important customer win is a further confirmation of the benefits of simulation-based software development in aerospace applications," said John Lambert, president and CEO of Virtutech. "By simulating the system hardware with Simics, we help validate software modifications and speed completion of our customer's projects."

Virtutech's full system simulation platform, Simics, allows software developers to model hardware so accurately that the software cannot detect the difference between running on real production hardware and running on Simics. Any code, from application code to low-level code such as real-time operating systems, device-drivers and protocol stacks, can run on Simics with extremely high performance.
