IntellaSys Corporation today announced through its OnSpec operating entity the immediate availability of application software that enables the fast and easy data backup of both Apple Power PC and Intel Macintosh systems. OEMs that incorporate OnSpec interface controller chip solutions into their products have the option to furnish Regen(TM) software as a value added feature. The proprietary Regen software complies with Apple's Universal Logo criteria as it software synchronizes new data to be backed up to USB-based storage drives.
"When it comes to ensuring the compatibility of USB-based peripherals with new PCs coming to market, OnSpec interface controllers and related software support have consistently led the industry," said Bryan Chin, product marketing manager. "We're delighted to be the first to ensure the highest level compatibility between USB-based storage drives and the new Intel-based Macintosh systems from Apple Computer."
After a simple installation procedure, the Regen application software lets users backup an entire drive or choose the folders and types of files to backup and sync. A convenient Push Button Backup (PBB) feature streamlines backup, restore, or sync at the push of a button. Only Regen software supports multiple drives while allowing unique PBB tasks to be assigned to each drive. It also allows backup as many times as desired and has a sophisticated scheduler to queue jobs for optimum usage.
The Apple-compatible Regen software supports Mac OS X version 10.3 or later and runs at optimum speed on Intel processor or Power PC Processor based Macs. This is in addition to Regen having PC compatibility with Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98, Vista (to be released), Media Center, and other Windows Operating Systems.
Regen software supports OnSpec's USB 2.0 Hi-Speed processor-based storage chip solutions. OnSpec offers a wide range of USB 2.0 storage solutions such as USB 2.0 to IDE/ATAPI and USB 2.0 to Flash media and NAND. Media such as CompactFlash, Memory Stick, Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, SmartMedia, and other popular media are supported individually or in combination.
Other software solutions offered by OnSpec include Data Formatter that virtually repairs Flash memory to its factory condition, Data Recall for data recovery, Password protection for Flash memory, and Mobile Email to enable transfer of email to Flash memory or portable hard drive.
