MIAMI, April 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AESP, Inc. today announced the expansion of the Signamax Network Connectivity product line to include 5 and 8-port 10/100/1000BaseT/TX Desktop Gigabit Ethernet switches and a Rate-adaptive Gigabit Ethernet Switching Media Converter. These new Gigabit Ethernet products, which utilize state-of-the-art Ethernet cabling technology, are the latest step in the continuing expansion of the Signamax product lines.
Steve Daily, the Division's Vice President and General Manager, stated "Desktop switches are typically used to network small office and workgroup environments cost-effectively. These new models provide the increased speed and power of Gigabit Ethernet to small user groups that require high performance at a reasonable cost. Small businesses such as graphic arts and digital photography studios that require large file transfers to be done quickly can now afford the power of Gigabit Ethernet."
Mr. Daily continued, "Media converters allow data carried over traditional copper wire to be carried over more powerful fiber optic cable, and vice versa. This allows a data network's range to be extended over distances greater than a copper cabling plan can support on its own, without the need to replace the installed cabling. The new media converter allows already installed Fast Ethernet and Standard Ethernet devices the ability to connect directly to 1000Base SX Gigabit Ethernet fiber optic cable.
"Signamax is continuing to develop new products and increase its market presence worldwide. We have recently formed a new organization, Signamax GmbH, to coordinate our Signamax sales and distribution efforts in Europe, Africa and the Middle East," remarked Mr. Daily.
