California Micro Devices Presents ASIP(TM) Solutions for Flat Panel Displays at SID 2006
Posted on: Monday, 5 June 2006, 09:00 CDT
SAN FRANCISCO, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- California Micro Devices , a leading supplier of application specific analog semiconductor products for mobile handsets, personal computers and digital consumer electronics, will be showcasing its popular Application Specific Integrated Passive(TM) (ASIP(TM)) solutions for digital television, flat panel monitor and mobile handset applications at the Society for Information Display 2006 International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition in San Francisco, California from June 6 through 8.
CMD Presenting at SID Exhibitors' Forum
Olivier Brecheteau, Director of Marketing for Mobile Products will be presenting at the SID Exhibitors' Forum on Wednesday, June 7th at 9:00 AM. His presentation will focus on CMD's unique Praetorian(TM) EMI filter technology.
Designed Into Leading Digital Consumer Electronics and Mobile Applications
California Micro Devices' ASIP(TM) solutions are designed into a broad range of leading digital flat panel TVs, flat panel monitors and mobile handsets, providing the industry's highest levels of electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering, along with other functions such as signal termination and level shifting.
MediaGuard(TM) HDMI Port Protection for Digital TV
The CM2020 and CM2021 MediaGuard(TM) HDMI port protectors provide a complete port protection and signal integrity solution in a single integrated chip. Optimized for high speed layout on low-cost boards, including thin dielectric and 2-layer boards, these devices integrate ESD protection, backdrive protection, overcurrent protection and voltage level translation. They are designed to support the latest HDMI features including greater than 1.65 Gbps data rates, multiple port systems, extended cable lengths and CEC support.
PhotonIC(TM) LED Drivers for Wireless Handsets
CMD will be displaying its newest capabilities in LED drivers for mobile phones. As advanced multimedia features become increasingly accepted, brighter displays and high intensity camera flash become key requirements. CMD's PhotonIC(TM) product offering, including charge pump and inductor boost architectures, provides power efficiency, cost effectiveness and maximum space savings. Its innovative FlexBoost(TM) technology supplies asymmetric voltage outputs, providing significant power savings for the lighting subsystem.
Praetorian(TM) EMI Filters for Wireless Handsets
Praetorian(TM) EMI filter arrays are designed for the latest multimedia enabled wireless handsets with high data rates between the baseband processor and high resolution displays and cameras. Groundbreaking Praetorian(TM) process technology allows the integration of spiral inductors with capacitors and ESD protection diodes in a single chip design, providing superior EMI filtering, high cutoff frequencies, minimal insertion loss, sharp rolloff and greater levels of attenuation at high frequencies.
Other Booth Highlights
Other major applications that California Micro Devices will be presenting include:
-- ESD solutions featuring the PicoGuard(TM) CM1213 family of ESD diode arrays, providing up to 8 channels of 8kV contact ESD protection in a single package, with only 1pF of capacitance -- the industry's lowest capacitance diode arrays for DVI, HDMI, USB, serial ATA and IEEE 1394 ports. -- Centurion(TM) EMI filters for wireless handset high speed color LCD interfaces. California Micro Devices' proprietary Centurion(TM) advanced zener process technology provides enhanced EMI filtering performance, greater ESD protection and dramatically lower capacitance levels than traditional solutions.
