MILWAUKEE, June 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Midwest Airlines travelers can now enjoy the convenience of being able to quickly and easily change existing reservations using a new online feature. Thanks to recent enhancements to the Milwaukee-based airline's Web site - midwestairlines.com - customers can now change their flights and dates, or cancel their refundable tickets, from any computer 24 hours a day.
Electronic tickets are eligible for online changes, regardless of original ticket purchase location. Service fees and fare differentials apply. (For additional information regarding tickets eligible for online changes, visit the FAQ section of midwestairlines.com.)
The added functionality has been well received by users of the Web site, according to Scott R. Dickson, senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "This is a service our customers requested and have told us they appreciate. It's another way we are working to translate 'The best care in the air' to 'The best care online.'"
He added that the airline is committed to further improving the online services available to customers. Later this summer, a second phase of enhancements will offer customers the ability to change tickets issued in conjunction with airline programs such as meetings, conventions and weddings, as well as those involving certificates and promotions. At that time, the airline will also incorporate added functionality to provide customers the ability to comparison shop for flight options that better suit their needs during the ticket change process.
Other customer-friendly features available on midwestairlines.com include: -- Online account - To utilize the new ticket change feature, travelers must sign up for a free online account on the airline's Web site. The online account also allows travelers to manage their travel arrangements - including viewing present, held and past reservations; adding a Midwest Miles number to a reservation; changing seats on a flight; printing an itinerary or receipt; and checking flight status. They can also review Midwest Miles activity and sign up for e-mail notifications of fare sales, special offers and online mileage statements. -- RSS feed - An RSS feed directly to customers' desktops provides Midwest fare specials and offers as they become available. -- Downloadable flight schedules - Midwest's flight schedule is available in three formats: viewable and printable PDF files, PC electronic timetables and mobile electronic timetables for PDAs. -- Airport information - Gate and counter information is posted for all airports served by Midwest Airlines and Midwest Connect, as well as recommended airport arrival times. There are also links to book a rental car or hotel room at the destination city. -- Online check-in - Travelers can skip the line at the airport and check in for flights up to 24 hours before departure.
Midwest Airlines features jet service throughout the United States. Skyway Airlines, Inc. - its wholly owned subsidiary - operates as Midwest Connect, which offers connections to Midwest Airlines as well as point-to-point service between select markets on regional jet and turboprop aircraft. Together, the airlines offer service to 47 cities. More information is available at midwestairlines.com.
