ChicagoFIRST and TeleContinuity, Inc. announced that ChicagoFIRST has contracted with TeleContinuity to provide their backup survivable emergency voice network to its member representatives and key strategic partners. ChicagoFIRST, a non-profit association, is dedicated to enhancing the resilience of Chicago's financial community in the event of an emergency. The arrangement enables ChicagoFIRST member representatives and key strategic partners to have access to the backup technology providing additional business resiliency (for a complete list of ChicagoFIRST members and partners, visit www.chicagofirst.org).
"Chicago is an important financial center and any loss of telecommunications can cause problems for our member firms, as well as for the local and national economy," said Brian Tishuk, Executive Director of ChicagoFIRST. "Federal regulators expect firms and markets to have alternate methods of communicating with their customers, their employees, regulators, and other entities. ChicagoFIRST is assisting our firms with continuity of operations during a voice communications outage by providing TeleContinuity's service to our members' representatives and key partners."
ChicagoFIRST's member representatives and strategic partners that subscribe to the TeleContinuity Network can be assured that within minutes of a telecommunication outage, their inbound telephone calls will be redirected to any device and location of their choice. Member-representatives and strategic partners can also be reached at their own unique TeleContinuity-provided emergency access toll free number. The TeleContinuity Network puts its subscribers in total control of their voice recovery while assuring delivery of the highest voice quality through the use of special algorithms that intelligently and dynamically adjust call routing to real time conditions in the public switch telephone network and the public internet.
"TeleContinuity recognizes the importance of guaranteeing survivable telecommunications for the financial services industry in Chicago," said Roy Pinchot, CEO of TeleContinuity. "Working with ChicagoFIRST, TeleContinuity will assure that the members of ChicagoFIRST can maintain telecommunications through a variety of different outage conditions whether man made or natural. TeleContinuity is proud to support the pioneering efforts of ChicagoFIRST in guaranteeing the viability of Chicago's financial institutions during times of crisis."
Through TeleContinuity's proprietary intelligent communications routing, unique switching technology, and geographically dispersed network, users can easily activate the service within minutes of a telephone service disruption and restore incoming and outgoing call service by routing their telephone service into the TeleContinuity Network. TeleContinuity's technology makes this possible by sending calls through any available circuit on both the public switched telephone network and the public Internet. Calls can be moved back-and-forth between the Internet and public switched telephone networks to assure call delivery under the most difficult situations. TeleContinuity's technology enables users to be reached at any location and over any working device (land line phone, cell phone, and soft phone on laptop or PC), as if no service disruption had occurred. During emergencies, TeleContinuity provides subscribers with incoming and outgoing call service. TeleContinuity is a hosted service that does not require capital investment, additional staff, maintenance, or changes in a client's current carrier relationships.
