Kryptiq Addresses Provider Life Cycle Management With Guardian Source; Guardian Source Creates Single ''Source of Truth'' By Unifying Provider Information
Posted on: Tuesday, 6 June 2006, 12:00 CDT
Kryptiq Corporation, the leader in health plan contract management solutions, announced today Guardian(TM) Source for Provider Life Cycle Management. Provider Life Cycle Management is an emerging category of product that enables health plans to have a single "source of truth" for automating and managing all demographic information related to their provider network.
Provider Life Cycle Management refers to a health plan's ability to effectively manage its provider relationships, individually and collectively, across the entire organization and throughout the duration of each relationship. Today, a major stumbling block to effective Provider Life Cycle Management is the fragmentation of provider information. Provider information is often located in many different places, locked away in legacy databases or spread across different systems that contain incomplete or inconsistent data. Without a solution for unifying and managing all this data, effective Provider Life Cycle Management is unobtainable. Additionally, if the single source of truth is not integrated with downstream activities, such as contracting and claims, there is no efficient way to push accurate provider information to those who depend on it.
With Guardian Source, health plans can now rely on a single "source of truth" that arbitrates among multiple silos of information to create a cohesive record of provider data accessible throughout the organization. Information created and managed in other applications can be integrated with Guardian Source, allowing departments to maintain local control of the information for which they are responsible.
Using a true Provider Life Cycle Management system, a health plan can:
-- Implement a cohesive NPI (National Provider Index) management plan with the ability to add, delete and change the status of providers and communicate these changes to all departments
-- Have a unified data source that can be used for provider directory compilation
-- Implement a network compliance reporting strategy
-- Perform network coverage analysis
"Imagine that whenever you go to the bank to cash a check, the teller has to run around looking at different files and computer systems to check if the account still exists, if you are an authorized user of the account, and if you have an available balance. Imagine there are different identifiers for you and your account on each of these different systems, and when the teller finally returns, the information is inconsistent," said Robert Leong, vice president of marketing, health plan solutions for Kryptiq. "This is the type of data challenge facing many health plans today. Source brings all of the provider demographic pieces together and gives health plans the visibility they need to optimize their provider networks."
Guardian Source is the latest application to join the Guardian Suite. The Guardian Suite is built around Guardian(TM) Contract Manager, which streamlines and automates all stages of the provider contracting process. Modules in the Guardian Suite include: Guardian(TM) Publisher, which ensures edits and deletions made to provider or contract data are communicated to downstream departments, such as claims and member services; Guardian(TM) Negotiator, which enables online provider contract negotiation; and Guardian(TM) Courier, which allows organizations to send contracts and other approved documents to their providers with secure, email-based mass electronic mailings.
