NetResident: Event-Oriented Network Content Monitoring

TamoSoft announces the immediate availability of NetResident 1.1, a network content monitoring solution for Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003. NetResident uses advanced monitoring technology to capture, store, analyze, and reconstruct network events, such as e-mail messages, Web pages, and instant messenger chats.
While NetResident is similar to standard network analyzers in many respects, it focuses on high-level protocols that are used to transfer content over the Internet or LAN. With NetResident, the user doesn't need a profound understanding of networking technologies, have to use complex packet capturing and analysis software or dig through network packets trying to reconstruct the actual data; NetResident does all the work and focuses only on the network events that are of interest. With just a few mouse clicks, the user can see the Web pages or e-mail messages as they were sent over the network.
The present NetResident release supports the most widespread protocols currently used in modern networks, including HTTP for Web pages, FTP for file transfers, POP3, SMTP, and IMAP for e-mail, NNTP for news, as well as many instant messaging protocols, such as MSN, AIM, Yahoo, and ICQ.
NetResident is used by network administrators to enforce IT policy, by parents to monitor their children's communication on the Internet, and by forensic experts to gain crucial information.
