Apptix, a premiere provider of on-demand messaging and collaboration solutions for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), today announced that its ASP-One division has achieved a major milestone, having surpassed 20,000 Hosted Exchange subscribers. ASP-One has achieved a 45 percent increase in subscribers in the last six months. Apptix' SharePointsite.com has also achieved significant growth in new site adoption, resulting in more than 1,400 sites in total.
"Representing a distinctive collection of nearly 430 luxury hotels, resorts and spas in over 74 countries, and a network of more than 20 regional offices in key cities around the world, having a reliable, highly available email system is mission critical," said George Lee, Director of Information Technology for Leading Hotels of the World. "Our decision to outsource this system to ASP-One, a division of Apptix, in 2002 allows us to focus on our core business of providing five star service and preferences of the affluent consumers in this new age of luxury marketing."
As a market leader in serving the SMB market, ASP-One provides customers who have limited, internal resources and staff with improved IT capabilities, service flexibility and scalability. ASP-One delivers Exchange Hosting and Hosted SharePoint to the burgeoning SMB market. Most recently, the company added Mobile Messaging for GoodLink(TM) to complement its existing Mobile Messaging for BlackBerry(R) service. Mobile Messaging services allow mobile employees to access their Exchange Hosting solution anywhere, anytime. In addition, ASP-One added an Archiving and Compliance solution to address the growing demand to support government and corporate compliance mandates.
"SharePoint has become our platform of choice for collaboration, both internally and with our community partners," said Dana Ramey, Vice President of Communications for the American Lung Association of Indiana. "Apptix's on-demand SharePoint solution offers us a robust and flexible enterprise-class infrastructure that we can expand over time."
Hosted SharePoint provides a powerful team collaboration environment that enables organizations - small or large - to facilitate document and content sharing amongst individuals, teams and business units. SharePoint sites can also be extended beyond a single organization for collaboration with customers and partners. More importantly, SharePoint is extensible from a simple medium for document management and sharing to a platform for application development that can encompass team workspaces, email, presence awareness and Web-based conferencing.
"SMB organizations now truly understand the clear advantages of hosted application delivery for software solutions like Microsoft Exchange," said Alex Yevelev, Vice President of Web Direct Sales for Apptix. "Over the last year, we have experienced a significant increase in the number of customers moving from an in-house solution to our outsourced model."
The strong performance of both ASP-One and SharePointsite.com in the first quarter of 2006 contributed to Apptix's record performance. Highlights include:
-- ASP-One had its best quarter of bookings ever in Q1 with the addition of approximately 4,500 new seats, an increase of 56% over Q4 2005
-- SharePointsite.com set a record for site bookings in Q1 with 353 new and upgraded sites, an increase of 38% over Q4 2005
The addition of these new ASP-One and SharePointsite customers brings the total number of Apptix end users to more than 85,000 across over 9,500 customers worldwide.
