NetRegulus, Inc. Announces Performance Benchmarking Results for NetRegulus NetRM Platform

Posted on: Monday, 12 June 2006, 09:00 CDT

DENVER, June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- NetRegulus(R), Inc., an established provider of Enterprise Compliance Software for Regulated Industries today announced system performance benchmarking results on the NetRegulus NetRM(TM) software platform released in late 2005. Two key benchmarking metrics, average system response time and number of concurrent users, were tracked against rapid input and management of typical quality records. Two scenarios were run, short-term high usage and sustained high usage, to determine if the system could process large volumes of regulatory records in a short period and if that volume could be sustained.

In the first scenario, the NetRegulus NetRM system successfully created 20,000 Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) records in an eight hour period with sub-second system response time using 75 concurrent users. A typical large enterprise life science company with 10-15 sites and 50,000 employees might process 20,000 CAPA records a year. This test simulated a full year's worth of CAPA activity in a single shift's time.

In the second scenario, 75 concurrent users were again simulated processing quality records. The system response time was monitored for a period of 68 hours and averaged less than 0.4 second response. This test simulated a typical 5 - site implementation of quality solutions running on a single instance and proves that a high volume of activity can be sustained over a significant timeframe confirming the scalability of the new web-based architecture.

"This benchmark testing is further proof of the performance capability and scalability of the NetRegulus NetRM solution and its architecture," said Michael Prudhomme, Chief Technology Officer, of NetRegulus. "NetRegulus solutions have proven to be scalable from 5 to over 4,000 named users on a single instance of the solution."

The NetRegulus NetRM system architecture is predicated on a framework and a suite of application modules using Java and the J2EE design pattern. The NetRegulus NetRM system is based on open standards and has a componentized modular design leveraging the underlying common framework. It is the strict adherence to the J2EE design pattern and the componentized architecture that enable the high levels of system performance and scalability as evidenced by the benchmarking results.

The NetRegulus NetRM system was tested in the following environment: Two windows servers each with a single Intel processor running at 3.4 GHz and 1 gigabyte of memory. The first server was a dedicated database server running Oracle 10g and the second server was a dedicated application server running BEA Weblogic. The client machines utilized 2.5 GHz Intel processors running Microsoft Windows XP and Internet Explorer.
