GARTNER STORAGE SUMMIT 2006 -- Kazeon, the leader in information classification and management, today announced that it has joined the Hitachi Data Systems independent software vendor (ISV) partner program. The program announced today by Hitachi Data Systems, provider of Application Optimized Storage(TM) solutions and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), delivers key services to companies that develop software that is interoperable with Hitachi storage solutions. Hitachi Data Systems and Kazeon are working together to provide customers with an active archive solution that has been tested and validated to ensure that the customer environment and its business critical data is secure and protected for the long-term. Kazeon's award-winning Information Server IS1200 delivers scalable, high performance indexing of files and emails spread across the enterprise. Customers can now quickly search their servers, storage, disk-based backups, and archives. The IS1200's built-in classification and indexing identifies files that have compliance or privacy information, migrate them into the Hitachi Content Archive Platform and set the appropriate retention policy.
The Hitachi Content Archive Platform is an active archive solution comprised of both software and hardware, which supports policy-based integration from several distributed or centralized repositories such as email, file systems, databases, applications and content or document management systems. The Hitachi Content Archive Platform ensures the secure archival-quality retention, preservation or verifiable destruction of content. Through the use of the Hitachi Content Archive Platform, users can leverage a set of common and unified archive services such as centralized search, policy-based retention, authentication and protection.
"We are pleased to partner with Hitachi and extend our vision of an easily searchable storage infrastructure to the Hitachi Content Archive Platform," said Alex Kushnir, founder and vice president of Business Development of Kazeon. "By providing a unified index across file systems, storage systems, and archive data, Kazeon presents customers with a powerful foundation for proactive data management given today's increasing requirements to protect confidential corporate information, and quickly respond to compliance and legal discovery requests."
"Kazeon's track record in providing best-in-class search and migration solutions for its customers brings added value to our digital archiving initiative," said Jack Domme, senior vice president, Global Solutions, Strategy and Development, Hitachi Data Systems. "Through our collaboration with Kazeon, Hitachi Data Systems delivers on a critical business requirement for our customers -- the ability to classify, search and migrate content into our digital archive for structured and unstructured data coming from any content source in a timely manner. This is what is required in a digital archiving solution today."
