Toshiba Launches Toshiba De Mexico Digital Solutions Bringing Strata CIX VoIP Systems to Mexico
Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (TAIS TSD), today announced the launch of Toshiba de Mexico Digital Solutions Division, a subsidiary of TAIS created to sell Toshiba Strata(R) CIX IP business communications systems in Mexico. With this announcement, Toshiba’s Strata CIX100, CIX200 and CIX670 products are now available in Mexico. The division was launched in Mexico on May 9, 2006.
“With the launch of its new Toshiba de Mexico Digital Solutions Division, Toshiba is now bringing its Strata CIX family of IP business communications solutions to Mexico,” said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba’s Telecommunication Systems Division. “Toshiba’s Strata CIX family allows users to embrace the expanded reach and mobility capabilities of IP-based telephony systems, with Toshiba quality, reliability and durability.”
Toshiba de Mexico has already signed 15 distribution partners, including locations in the Federal District, (Mexico City and surrounding area with population of 25 million plus), Baja California, Sonora, Monterrey, and Guadalajara, as well as the southeast and southern regions. It also announced plans to increase the total number of Mexico-based Authorized Toshiba Dealers to 60. The division estimates that up to 54 percent of Mexico-based companies plan to upgrade their communications systems and that 80 percent plan to migrate to IP telephony.
Designed for SMB enterprises or larger corporate users with multiple sites, all Strata CIX models offer Toshiba’s FeatureFlex(TM) adaptability capabilities, can be TDM-enabled, and provide a smooth migration path from Toshiba Strata CTX and Strata DK digital business communication systems. The Strata CIX family includes: Strata CIX670 (supporting up to 672 ports), Strata CIX200 (supporting up to 192 ports) and Strata CIX100 (supporting up to 112 ports). All three systems allow customers to integrate traditional and IP telephony on a single converged system, using a mix of analog, digital and IP telephones.
“By launching Toshiba’s communications technologies, Toshiba de Mexico is giving Mexican companies the communications tools they need to be more connected and more competitive,” said Carlos Canales, president of Toshiba de Mexico.
