Posted on: Monday, 19 June 2006, 12:00 CDT
Appro (http://www.appro.com), a leading provider of high-performance enterprise computing systems, will be showcasing cluster technology demonstrations at the SIA show in New York, NY, June 20-22, 2006, booth 1770.
Data Center Cooling Simulations
Enterprises in financial services demand increased server and network performance and scalability while at the same time striving to dramatically reduce IT costs and minimize risk. Appro's solution focuses on server density, memory capacity, higher bandwidth Data Centers and virtualized environments to provide computing flexibility, reliability and ROI. The collaboration with Fluent adds analysis and optimization of Data Center cooling, to provide robust thermal performance and deployment planning. Appro will showcase its 3U Quad XtremeServers based on Dual-Core AMD Opteron Processors running CoolSim, Data Center cooling simulations.
Server Virtualization Solution
Appro will showcase its 1U Dual XtremeServer based on Dual-Core AMD Opteron Processors running SWsoft's Virtuozzo operating system-level server virtualization software. The demo will show how the software can split Appro's servers into many fully functional and isolated virtual environments (VEs). Each VE can be running its tasks so that the whole server is utilized more efficiently while consolidating and simplifying IT Data Center performance.
Integrated Infiniband Blade Solution
Appro XtremeBlade offers reliability, scalability and agility meeting the key requirements for enterprise customers. It leverages the performance advantages of Dual-Core AMD Opteron Processors, PCI-Express and Infiniband to maximize the performance advantage of the entire blade cluster while dramatically reducing the complexity of management and administration.
Server Cluster Consolidation and Management Solution
Appro HyperBlade Mid-Cluster features 50 blades powered by Dual-Core AMD Opteron Processors running on Linux Red Hat operating system featuring the Appro BladeDome, remote management Software. The Appro BladeDome Remote management software is IPMI 2.0 compliant and works with either Windows or Linux.
"Large enterprises and service providers are already utilizing the high reliability, outstanding flexibility and low total cost of ownership offered by Appro servers and cluster solutions. Appro proves to be the ideal platform for the High-Performance and enterprise markets," said John Lee, Director of Product Marketing of Appro.
