NETSHARE(R) Forges Alliance With Ecademy to Help Executives Build Their Online Brand; NETSHARE Subscribers Now Get Free Membership in World's Largest Professional Social Business Network

Posted on: Tuesday, 20 June 2006, 09:00 CDT

Senior executives looking to expand their professional network and manage their online brand now have a new resource. NETSHARE(R), (www.netshare.com) a confidential subscription-based career site for executives, today announced an alliance with Ecademy, a global social business network with more than 70,000 members, through which NETSHARE subscribers receive a free annual Ecademy membership. This joint membership package now gives NETSHARE members access to a worldwide network of professionals, as well as special-interest forums and executive job listings.

"We at NETSHARE have been proponents for professional networking since our inception, since building connections fills in the 'weak links' in executive career advancement," said Kathy Simmons, CEO of NETSHARE. "It's ironic that where the Internet once promoted anonymity through e-mail, it now has become the 'go to' resource for making professional connections. It's increasingly important to promote your visibility on the web as part of your personal professional brand."

According to a recent survey, 63 percent of all recruiters conduct an Internet search on a candidate's name before talking to them. Almost half of those surveyed indicated they have eliminated a candidate based on Internet findings. By adding membership in Ecademy, NETSHARE members can increase their Internet visibility. Ecademy is one of the most visited professional networking sites on the web, averaging 1.5 million page impressions per day and 200,000 unique visitors per month. Members find that posting their profile on Ecademy dramatically increases their search engine visibility.

Ecademy membership offers NETSHARE members additional benefits as well, including access to 70,000 professionals worldwide. Ecademy also has space for advertising and trading, including posting articles, and provides access to networking events and over 2,000 clubs worldwide. The Ecademy online community also provides space for blogging, and offers an online "library of professionals" to offer help and advice.

"Clearly NETSHARE and Ecademy share the same philosophy: people come first," added Simmons. "You can't establish a relationship with a resume, nor can you effectively network without some personal interaction and a level of trust. Both NETSHARE and Ecademy are helping promote those connections online, and help our members make an impression even before they get that job interview."
