CHICAGO, April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc., the number one stand-alone vendor of flat panel desktop displays, today announced that it has received a prestigious Five-Star Award rating from DisplayMate Technologies for its expansive 40-inch LCD4000 and 30-inch LCD3000 (29.5 viewable image size) information displays in the large screen monitor category and its 19-inch NEC MultiSync LCD1980SX in the LCD computer monitor category.
"These three NEC-Mitsubishi LCD4000, LCD3000 and LCD1980SX models delivered impressive image and picture quality to capture the 2004 DisplayMate Best Video Hardware Guide(TM) Five-Star Awards in their categories," said Dr. Raymond Soneira, President of DisplayMate Technologies. "Their performance in DisplayMate's grueling Video Obstacle Course(TM) in both analog and digital modes was nearly flawless. We consider them to be the best commercially available video hardware and recommend them as a comparative standard of excellence for consumers, corporate buyers, reviewers, test labs, and manufacturers alike."
NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display's LCD4000 and LCD3000 information displays have become an attractive option for public displays, conference presentations, information kiosks, financial exchanges, trade show exhibits, and retail and airport signage. To produce rich, vibrant images the displays deliver high resolutions of 1280 x 768 pixels (wide-XGA), brightness of 450 cd/m2 (typ) and typical contrast ratios of 600:1 for the NEC LCD4000 and 350:1 for the NEC LCD3000. They also deliver full motion video without the appearance of 'ghosting' or 'image trailing' by operating at a Rapid Response(TM) time of 23 ms for the NEC LCD4000 and 25 ms for the NEC LCD3000. The uniformly thin frame and light weight of 57.3 lbs. for the NEC LCD4000 and 32.6 lbs. for the NEC LCD3000 enables ease of installation and mounting, where it can be viewed from an ultra-wide horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 170-degrees, 85-degrees from all sides of the monitor.
"This honor in tandem with ongoing customer feedback reaffirms the superior quality of our displays," said Todd Fender, senior product manager at NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc. "Having DisplayMate test and evaluate our monitors provides invaluable information that we use to continually optimize each model and challenge ourselves to develop new technologies that will help raise industry standards."
The NEC MultiSync LCD1980SX is one of a series of LCD monitors designed to help high-end users efficiently process and respond to dynamically changing information in financial, call center, graphic art, medical and public display environments. Like the LCD4000 and LCD3000, this desktop display enables professionals to easily adjust display settings with a mouse and keyboard instead of using the monitor's up-front buttons. The NaViSet Administrator software includes Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), providing IT professionals with remote control and access to the monitor and its settings without having to disrupt users. These capabilities are based on the Display Data Channel Command Interface (DDC/CI), which allows control commands to be sent directly to the monitor by a local system or remotely over an existing network (LAN). All three displays also offer consistent, long-distance signals with longer cables that can be centrally located in control rooms up to 326 feet/100 meters away from users.
