Demand for Aurora Networks' Innovative Solutions Spurs Company's Growth to World's Third-Largest Supplier; Aurora Expands Staff to Sustain Signature Service

Posted on: Wednesday, 21 June 2006, 09:00 CDT

Aurora Networks' innovative engineering, proven quality and exceptional service has spurred the company's significant growth, establishing it as the world's third-largest supplier of advanced optical transport systems to the broadband cable market. To fulfill the increased demand for its products while sustaining the company's commitment to superior service, Aurora Networks has scaled up its staff by promoting key individuals, hiring new managers and increasing its customer service personnel.

"Aurora's growth is a reflection of our reputation for consistently developing cutting-edge optical transport solutions that optimize network performance and enable the deployment of advanced broadband services. We take pride in the long-term relationships we have built with cable operators worldwide, and our staff promotions and expansions underscore Aurora's commitment to meeting and exceeding our customers' expectations," said Guy Sucharczuk, chairman, president and CEO of Aurora Networks.

Promotions

Yuval Schwartz has been promoted from director to vice president of Latin America sales. Schwartz first joined Aurora in December 2004 with a wealth of experience in the Latin American cable market and in wireless communications. In addition to founding CRTIR Communications, a broadband WiFi hardware and software solutions provider, Schwartz has held sales and marketing positions at broadband innovators such as Kasenna, Bridgewave Communications, Liberate Technologies and Harmonic Lightwaves.

In January, Wim Mostert assumed the position of director of forward transport technologies. In this role, Mostert is responsible for expanding existing forward transport technologies, developing new alternative forward technologies for hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) N+X and Fiber Deep HFC N+0 architectures, and developing analog video fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) systems. Since joining Aurora Networks in April 2003, Mostert has held positions in the company's chief technology office, marketing and field engineering departments.

"Yuval Schwartz and Wim Mostert have significantly contributed to Aurora's success. We look forward to their ongoing impact as they fulfill their expanded roles and responsibilities," shared Guy Sucharczuk.

New Hires

In addition to increasing its customer service personnel, Aurora Networks hired three key professionals to foster the company's continued growth.

In March, Tom Fong joined the Aurora team as executive director of advanced access technologies. Fong leads Aurora's expansion of existing "first-mile" technologies and development of new first-mile technologies on fiber and coax. His efforts include integration of Aurora's fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) embedded and overlay Ethernet systems and development of wireless platforms. Fong's experience includes positions at K2, Aviva Networks, Juniper, Pacific Broadband, At Home and AT&T Bell Laboratories.

David Sell joined Aurora in April as the marketing manager for optical transport products. His role includes developing, executing and supporting the worldwide marketing strategy for Aurora's analog and digital optical transmitters, optical amplifiers, and supporting equipment. Sell's experience spans sales and marketing positions at Zeidman Technologies, Infineon Technologies, Marvell and Mitsubishi Electronics America.

Glenn Carley also joined Aurora in April as the new marketing product manager for optical node-based product lines. He is developing, executing, and supporting the worldwide marketing strategy for Aurora's Fiber Deep nodes, HFC nodes, virtual hubs, optical passives and supporting equipment. His experience includes marketing, sales and quality assurance positions at Philips Semiconductors, Unitrode Corp., and General Electric.

Aurora at Expo

Several Aurora Networks' staff members will participate in the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers' Cable-Tec Expo in Denver on June 21-23. During the event, Aurora Networks will unveil new innovations and demonstrate its best-selling products in booth 571.
