Auspice VSM(R) 2.0 Distributed Software Solution Optimizes VoIP Service Operations Supporting Millions of Devices
Auspice Corporation, the leading provider of real-time operations automation solutions for communications service providers, today introduced VSM(R) 2.0, a distributed service assurance software solution able to continually monitor millions of devices from the subscriber premise to the core network. VSM(R) 2.0 scales to fit the operational needs of all CSPs -- from small to Tier 1 --as they expand their rollout of VoIP services. Market competition and profit protection necessitate operational efficiencies in service turn-up and maintenance. VSM(R) 2.0's problem resolution and analysis based on customizable business logic pinpoints the source of service problems and provides actionable results for quick response times in closing out subscriber trouble reports. The Web-based XML services equip operations center technicians with automated configuration verification tools to ensure initial turn-up that result in satisfied customers.
With its comprehensive consolidation of data from business systems and network devices, VSM(R) 2.0 provides a unified view of critical information reducing the need for duplicate tool sets. Utilizing Web portals and visualization services, VSM(R) 2.0 graphically presents service health status at a subscriber, node, CMTS or market level. Support for DOCSIS 2.0/3.0, PacketCable and IPv6, enables OpsLogic VSM(R) 2.0 to meet the service monitoring and problem resolution needs for services and the networks delivering them.
"OpsLogic's unique combination of intelligent real-time correlation, proactive service health management, and automated trouble resolution, empowers operations and customer care staff to meet the demands and service expectations of their subscribers," explains Beth Wingerd, Auspice's Vice President of Product Management. "Our products have a proven track record in the largest service operator networks in North America in being able to address the ever-changing challenges of preserving revenue and operating margins while launching and managing new, complex IP-based service bundles across the entire service-delivery chain."
New features in VSM 2.0 include:
-- Hierarchical market dashboard views of devices, alarms, outages and events - visual indicators providing a summary of network inventory and key performance metrics
-- Web services for on-demand reports via XML for up-to-the-minute indicators of service outages for a subscriber, neighborhood or network. Reports are available for cable modems, MTAs, nodes and upstream channels
-- Flexible global configuration of OpsLogic servers distributed throughout the operator's network allowing for implementation of a national policy for performance thresholds, filters and polling rates. Customer-specific extensions can be activated without requiring a restart
-- IPv6 support for DOCSIS devices such as cable modems, Home Access devices, DOCSIS set-top gateways and HMS transponders
